What you need to know about the Kleiner Perkins, Epstein, and Kleiner family

A new report claims that the Kleins, the family that runs the family firm that is known for its controversial work, has donated millions of dollars to legal charities that benefit children and families of victims of sexual abuse.

The report, which was produced by a group of women who have worked on behalf of survivors of sexual assault, said that the firm donated more than $1 million in 2014 to organizations focused on helping children and their families through litigation.

It said that, by law, the firm must report how much of that money was spent on legal fees.

Kleiner Perkins has donated between $1.2 million and $1 billion to organizations that help survivors of childhood sexual abuse, according to the report.

The firm was one of the leading legal defense firms to defend Bill Cosby in the sexual assault trial that ended in the conviction of the former Penn State football coach.

The Perkins family also donated more to charities that help families of child survivors, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, and the Women’s Legal Education Foundation.KLEINER PERKINS FOUNDATIONPAST CONTRIBUTIONSBY REPORTERDANA SACRE,SALEM, Ore.

— Kleiner, Perkins & Co. donated between 1.2 and 1.4 million dollars to charities in the past five years that help victims of child sexual abuse and their children, according the report published Monday by a New York law firm.

The women’s group that produced the report, the Women Lawyers Alliance, said the Kleinstins and the family are among the most generous lawyers in the world, donating more than a million dollars in total over the past decade to organizations dedicated to helping children.

The organization, which is known as the Women in Lawyer Network, said it had compiled a list of some of the most egregious abuses of children that have been uncovered in the criminal justice system.

In 2015, a former assistant prosecutor who had worked at the firm for decades was sentenced to five years in prison for allegedly molesting a 13-year-old girl.

The group also released a report that said that in 2014, former Kleiner partner and former President and CEO Kenneth L. Blasberg gave more than 4 million dollars worth of legal advice to the firm to help settle child abuse lawsuits.

The law firm also donated between 4 and 6 million dollars annually to legal defense groups, according a 2016 report by the Center for Responsive Politics.

The Women Lawyers Association, which represents attorneys at the firms, said its analysis of the records revealed the Kleinens and Blasburgs donated a total of $5.5 million to legal organizations between 2014 and 2018.

The law firm did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the report on Monday.

The reports findings follow several bombshell reports in recent weeks detailing the sexual misconduct by former presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, as well as revelations of a $13 million settlement between former Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., and several women who accused him of sexual misconduct.

Bill Clinton was convicted in 1998 of sexual harassment and perjury.

Donald Trump was convicted of multiple sexual assault and assault allegations in separate cases in the 1990s.

Both were later pardoned by former President Barack Obama.
