‘I’m going to die’: Woman’s brain injury lawyer prepares for death sentence

The woman who took on a string of fatal brain injuries for more than two decades is preparing for a life sentence for her crimes.

Srihariya Gopal was arrested on March 12 for allegedly killing a man in the eastern Indian state of Karnataka.

The 41-year-old woman, who has not been identified, allegedly struck the man with a hammer and severed his skull.

She then allegedly stole his body parts and buried them.

Gopal had pleaded guilty in the case in 2014.

In May this year, a jury in the northern Indian state, Gujarat, convicted her of murder and manslaughter.

She is expected to be sentenced in June.
