A Texas gun lawyer has warned that a “ban on firearms” is “going to do nothing” for the law-abiding.
Key points:Gun rights advocate, Texas gun attorney, Richard Jewell’s lawyers, have said a “gun ban” will do nothing to stem the spread of the Zika virus”The ban is intended to stop people from going into areas where Zika has been found to be a problem,” Texas gun law expert, Richard J. Jewell, said.
“The purpose is to make sure that there are no new cases of the disease, and that people have access to the necessary health care.”
Mr Jewell said the measure will not make a dent in the outbreak.
“It is a small step,” he said.”[It] does not address the problem of the epidemic and the number of people that are infected.”
